Safety Management Systems Implementation

Course Objectives

The course should provide participants with the knowledge and skills to facilitate the design, implementation and maintenance of an operationally effective Safety Management System (SMS) to meet ICAO standards.

Topics Include

  • Safety Management Fundamentals;

  • Safety reporting, investigation, data collection and analysis;

  • Hazard identification and risk mitigation;

  • ICAO Annex 19 SARPS;

  • Safety management responsibilities and SMS framework and acceptance;

  • Safety Management System processes;

  • Emergency response plan; and

  • Hazard identification and risk management.

Mid to senior-level government officials from Oman involved in the aviation industry, particularly safety and quality managers and inspectors, and operational personnel.

The Nominating Government will be responsible for travel arrangements, accommodation and other local and incidental expenses of their participants.

Application Procedure

Step 1 Invitation.

The General Information Brochure will be conveyed to eligible countries/territories/inter-governmental organisations about twelve weeks prior to the commencement of a course. You can also find more information about courses under the SCP on this Website.

 

Step 2 Application.

Interested applicants should be suitably qualified and holding relevant portfolios to the programme you are applying to. Please complete the online form that can be accessed via the button below and obtain endorsement from your Supervisor and designated Focal Points for Technical Assistance. 

 

Step 3 Confirmation.

Successful applicants will receive a Conditional Letter of Acceptance and Confirmation Letter via email.

- Please ensure that your passport or travel document has the minimum validity period for entry into Jordan.

- Please bring along the Conditional Letter of Acceptance to Jordan to facilitate clearance.

This Course has limited seatings. Applicants are advised to submit application and confirmation early to secure a seat.
